Associate Member

Becoming an Associate Member is the easiest way to get involved in AED. Geared towards freshman who have yet to complete two semester of science coursework, Associate Membership provides you the opportunity to attend monthly meetings that help you navigate the pre-med track. Topics covered over the course of the year include course planning, the MCAT, letters of recommendation, volunteering, research, and more!

One of the largest benefits is the opportunity to interact with upperclassmen. In addition to the chance to interact with select Full Members at each Associate Meeting, Associates are invited to a few other AED events each semester to meet all of our Full Members. Not to mention, Associates are welcome at our annual Southland Pre-Medical Conference. They also have access to extensive help in pre-med coursework.

Applications are due Sunday 11:59PM on January 22, 2012. Join today!

Full Member

Full Membership is the core of AED. All Full Member applicants must complete a thorough application and interview before acceptance. Once accepted, Full Members engage in a semester-long commitment in which they learn the ins and outs of everything pre-med. Besides meeting the GPA requirement, applicants for full membership must show a high degree of motivation, be personable, and be willing to dedicate themselves to the organization and community.

Full members engage in a variety of activities, including social, philanthropic, and informational events. Some of these events are exclusive to the semester class. Full members will have the ultimate opportunity to interact with upperclassmen and form close, personal relationships with them. Only Full Members are permitted to join AED’s Executive Board. All graduating Executive Board members who graduated this past May are attending medical school in the fall.
